Christopher J. Pole, MD

Christopher J. Pole, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist who performs cataract surgery — including the Light Adjustable Lens — and oculoplastic (eyelid) surgery, and who treats glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and other general ophthalmic conditions. Dr. Pole earned his medical degree and completed his ophthalmology residency at Saint Louis University, following an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from the University of Missouri and a medicine internship in Denver. He brings more than a decade of private practice experience caring for patients across Missouri and Kansas, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Pole joined Murphy-Watson-Burr Eye Center in December 2025, stepping into the practice previously led by Dr. R. Alan Watson to ensure continuity of care for his patients. He sees patients at the St. Joseph office. Outside the office, Dr. Pole enjoys golf, cooking, skiing, and following Mizzou athletics, and he and his wife have three children.
